  1. I want to copy tapes from my rather old JVS camcorder and put them on DVD discs and edit them.

The camcorder cannot copy direct to my computer.
Therefore I have purchased a Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-EZ25EB and can download from the camcorder onto DVD+RW discs. I can load the DVD+RW disc into my laptop and play it. However I now want to load the video onto the computer hard disk and edit it so that eventually I can burn it onto a CD-R disc or whatever.
How do I do this and what editing program will I need?

    Many thanks

    Search Comp PM
Use DVDDecrypter to get the DVD to HDD.
Editing is harder, but run the resulting VOBs thru vob2mpg to get them into mpg format. Then, what app to use depends on what you want to do. Simple cuts & stuff: VideoReDo or Womble mpg VCR
Fancy stuff with titling, fades, wipes - Try Windows Movie Maker.
