Can't find this same problem so far. Hope you can help.

I have Samsung DVD-R129 from Wally's. Looks like R130. I can get the finalized DVD-RW(-V) to play on Sony DVP-S360 that is about 5 years old. I can't get it to recognized on Compaq Presario V2000 with TSST CD/DVDW TS-L532M drive with WinXP Home. It just spins, seek and say nothing there.

I am using Imitation DVD-RW 4X. Format in DVDR using (-V). Record in SP and LP off digital cable box. Finalize it. It will play in the Sony, but not in PC or on my powerbook. I can burn short video in Compaq using the same brand of disk and it will play in Samsung, Sony and Powerbook. So it is not the disk problem.

I tried reformat in -VR and finalized it. Will play in Sony after several attempts. But not in PC.

Most folks here said -V is more universal. It is true, but why can't I get it to play on PC?

Finally, I tried Dynex DVD-R 4X. Record off cable box. can't play on PC but will on Sony.

What should I do?

Thx.
