Help with editing Raiders of the lost ark please

Hello,

I captured Raiders Of The Lost Ark on BBC1 last Thursday on the WINTV PVR card in MPEG2 480x576 at 2496kps and 224 kps audio to fit on 3 cdr80s.

Started having problems when trying to edit the end of the movie using the nano edit program that u can download at hauppauge website. The video goes mixed up 3 minutes before the end of the movie.

Tryed the latest program still no good. Nano just doesn't like a screen covered in orange for some reason.

Worked with tmpgenc but no sound.

Where did you record the movie from? Terrestrial or Sky Digital? The reason I ask is that I had planned to VCD the film myself from the Sky Digital feed of BBC1 in widescreen, but when I saw the quality of the print I stopped immediately, even though the fullscreen version on the terrestrial channel looked fine. The satellite version was very washed out with little colour and very high contrast. Did you notice this?

Yes it was from Sky Digital.

I thought the poor quality was cos of a worn out print but Satellite digital is the only form of tv we have here. Our aeriel needs realining and we can't afford it.
