To me, they are tools just like all the other ones (you use the best/most appropriate tool for the job). Yes, they are bloated, but they are NOT particularly overly buggy, nor virus-laden. As long as you judiciously install them, they shouldn't become a burden and/or slow-down your system.
For apps that do, that's what VMs, multi-boots, or swappable boots are for. I don't want to be hampered from using the full potential of my tools' possibilities by a particular corporate preference or brand avoidance. But that's MY system. You can do what you want.
