Capture with Virtual Dub

Can anybody help me get Virtual Dub to capture?
If somebody just would write a little instuction or give me a site, so that I can capture to .mpg
I'm no computer nerd, so be gential...

PS: I have a Pinnacle PCTV Pro videos card.

VirtualDub only do realtime AVI capture... no MPG capture...
I know it can frameserve, but I dont know the procedure, or if it can be used in realtime capturing...

You will get VirtualDub from http://www.virtualdub.org
The site and the help files that come with the software will guide you about the capture process.
Yes as Fred© says Virtualdub can only do AVI Capture.
And NO frameserving is possible during capture.
If your card says MPG capture is possible, you should check with the software that came with the card.

D/L the VirtualDub, Device Not Found error message, where can we find eh Wrapper reqired.....

You may not require the Wrapper, some of us do, after you install the Virtual Dub, run the Capture part, if you see an error message DIVICE NOT FOUND or something like that you may require what they call the MS Wrapper (Not sure of the exact title), some post to this forum have indicated this is required in order to run Virtual Dub. A number of us have been seeking assistance in finding a location of this file, no help so far, I'ven asking for about two weeks now....still looking....

I found the wrapper yesterday from a link in one of the reviews. Go to video reviews, Then ATI AIW Radeon 32 DDR. About halfway down there is a link to download the WDM wrapper. Speaking of Vdub, anybody have any ideas as to why I can't select any higher than 320x240 (ATI TV Wonder PCI). Thanks

Many thanks, found the files, loaded, still receive the Device Not Found error, I am running WIN2000 Pro with the ATI AIW Radeon 32 DDR card. The MMC 7.5 works, just cant get the VirtualDub to do anything..........again thanks for pointing us to the right file........

I'm running Win98SE with TV Wonder PCI and after I installed the wrapper it worked fine with VirtualDub but only up to 320x240.

Um... I'm using the AIW Radeon 32MB board, Windows XP, so the only driver is WDM... and it works without a wrapper in VirtualDub.

Are you sure you need it, or just complicating things?

I just unzipped the files to a folder I created, went to that folder, right clicked on the .inf file and hit install. That was all there was to it, it worked after that.
