  2. You can use a few tools:
    1) SmartRipper to extract VOB files
    2) VOBEdit to demux video and audio
    3) IFOedit to remux video and your new audio to DVD
After doing this, you will end up with a new DVD without the old audio and with the new audio.

    1. Pgcdemux to video and audio files.
    2. Make new audio with somenthing and convert to ac3 or mpa with ffmpeggui.
    3. Author back to a new dvd with muxman or use Tmpgenc DVD Author and add the old video and the new audio.

Click on the name of each tool, that will take you to a page with information and links to guides for each one.

Do you mean your sound editor won't accept the demuxed audio track?
    What format is the audio?

My favorite editors won't accept AC3 or MP2 audio, so I use BeLight to convert to WAV, then I edit with Audacity, and use BeLight to convert the wav back to AC3 afterward.
Perhaps this is something that you could try.

    good luck

ps -- if you want to be a guinea pig, I just finished writing
a DeMux & ReMux Audio Track "beginner's guide / for and by a beginner".
I haven't posted it anywhere yet, but if you are interested, I will upload to a share-file site for you.

I know, BeSweet is pretty confusing.

Use BeLight instead, it has a very simple interface, and you can use the Presets to convert audio very quick and easy.

You MUST demux the audio and video tracks first.

If you want to edit the original audio, and the track is AC3 or MP2, maybe your sound editor won't recognise it, so you would have to convert to Wav.

Download and unzip BeLight to your pc.
Open it, go to File >> Open, and open the demuxed audio track.
Go to Presets > WAV >>
If your track is stereo, select 2.0 WAV.
If your track is 5.1 surround, and you know how to edit that, select 5.1 Wav to get a 6-channel wav.
If you don't know how to edit surround sound, or don't want to, select 2.0 Wav and BeLight will downmix it to stereo.

It will automatically save the converted file to the same folder as the source file.
Just click the button way at bottom of screen "Start Processing", (you might have to AutoHide the taskbar to see it)
    and wait a few minutes.
Then load the new Wav file in your sound editor, and do what you do.

After you save the edited Wav file, you can convert that to AC3 using BeLight.

Also, if you are making a brand new track, you convert that to AC3 with BeLight.
    just go to Presets > AC3, and select a setting. I use AC3 - 2.0 - 256 kbps.

Then you can remux the new AC3 file and the original demuxed M2V file in your authoring app.

    Hope this helps
