    Hey everyone,

I have this HD 1080i quality demo movie that I want to make into a dvd to play on a high definition dvd player in the store where I work.

The movie is a single vob file without any menus or subtitles. All I want is to burn it onto a dvd that is readable in a dvd player, without losing any of the quality.

I have tried authoring programmes, but they all scale down the resolution to 720x480, which makes it useless to me. The entire file is less then 1 gb, so it should fit onto a dvd without any compression.

I know that vob is a filetype that is used on dvd's, so I'm guessing I should be able to make a dvd without haveing to do any reencoding or converting.

I have no idea how to exactly make this file into a dvd though, could anyone explain to me how I should go about this?

For a standard DVD it has to be 720 x 480 (NTSC) or 576 (PAL) maximum. I don't know of any consumer HD-DVD authoring tools, although I believe someone did once post a method to create a pseudo HD-DVD on a standard DVD disc.

You could try using IFOEdit to create the ifo and bup files needed to complete the structure, but it may not play as it would not be a compliant DVD disc at that resolution.
