    HI there

I got this LG LCD TV up with component connection to dvd player, all the images become very green.
I change to RGB ouput from my laptop to TV, when watch movie(like RMVB format) it also turns green.

but if i change back to RCA(white, red, yellow cable) to watch dvd from normal DVD player(not from pc or laptop) it works perfect.

I tested with RGB is because i am wondering what is wrong with this TV's digital video input?

    any thought?

    Could you explain more detail?

I test RGB with laptop output, i think i proved it is green with digital video input?
cause when I used component between HDTV lcd tv and dvd player, it turns green.

is that my TV faulty or I configure or set up wrong?

    thanks

Many PAL (SCART) DVD players output RGB. Many LCD TV sets have YUV (aka analog component or YPbPr) inputs. The reverse could also be true depending where you bought your equipment. Some equipment can be set either way.

Make sure you are outputing YPbPr to YPbPr or RGB to RGB.

Another potential cause is a faulty cable.

Laptop? Are you talking about VGA?

YEs, i am talking about VGA, use laptop to output to both laptop screen and LCD TV(as LCD mornitor). actually even look at the photo from laptop, all become green. other colour are normal.

I changed to another component cable, it is the same, i did connect YPbPr to YPbPr(following the font on the socket, red blue and green cable between LCD tv and dvd player. it just becomes very green.

My TV got default RGB port for use as computer monitor(connect normal monitor cable between them, i can choose from TV input to select your input RGB/DVI or component 1 or component2.

    just green. very annoying me.

If VGA to VGA comes out green, you have a bad cable.

It seems to have all the inputs. Check the manual for what it will accept on the VGA port. Or call the LG support line.

It should be a normal RGBHV computer port. It will work with a limited set of resolutions printed in the manual. 1366x768 is a flavor of WXGA.

There are four Video type for my DVD player I can choose
    INTERLACE-YUV
    TV-RGB
    P-SCCAN YPBPR
    S-VIDEO

If I changed to a very good S-video cable, this time it works, once I changed DVD player to play in S-Video mode,

For component, it still goes green with "INTERELACE-YUV and P-SCAN YPBPR", if I chose S-VIDEO, it goes whole purple and white.

But in back of DVD player it says PbPrY port, but for DVD player in the mannual it says it is CR/Y/CB output.

    any thought?

You are confusing me. We were talking about a VGA out from a laptop to the VGA port on the LCD-TV that was going green no?

For DVD player to LCD-TV the better connection is progressive Y,Pb,Pr. This uses the Green-Blue-Red cable between the DVD player and the LCD-TV analog component inputs. The DVD player should be set to YPbPr progressive output and the LCD-TV should detect and display progressive video. This will be far superior to a S-Video connection.

Sorry, I mean not matter component or RGB (vga) output from laptop, it just turns green.

red and blue are ok, just all white and grey turn to green colour.

I couldnt find where to set up "The DVD player should be set to YPbPr progressive output and the LCD-TV should detect and display progressive video."

there are no those configuration either in my dvd player or that LG Lcd TV.

Try the "P-SCAN YPBPR" setting on the DVD player. Hook it up with analog component cable (Green-Blue-Red RCA).

It is beginning to seem like you have a defective TV. It shouldn't turn green if you are following the manual.

Thank you for your help edTV.
I sent to LG service centre, after check, they said there is a problem with one accessory. Hopefully it can be fixed in one week.

I cant believe it, i bought only for 3months, it already goes wrong.
