  1. Hello all,
I am trying to create an Audio DVD with a collection of all my Christmas music. I've used Audio DVD Creator in the past and was wondering if there is a better program out there with more options as far as playback goes. I would like to find a program that I can have different backgrounds for each song that comes on. I have seen others do the same kind of project and have an animated fireplace running during all the music. But I would rather just be able to have different images for each song.
If there is a way to do this with Audio DVD Creator please let me know.
    Thanks in advance
    Marc

Sony DVD Architect allows this natively but you are limited to 99 tracks (1 track has a separate picture and therefore 1 song per track). To override this limitation some people use DVDLabPro and manually create and link multipage menues, you can find a manual on the site but I think it's a time consuming method. Another way is to create DVD-Audios (AUDIO_TS folder is used) without such severe limitations (you can create 9 groups of 99 tracks). The problem is that programs for this like discWelder Chrome are a bit expensive.

I would like to find a program that I can have different backgrounds for each song that comes on.
    try it:
open advdc, load your musics and save the project ...chose the name.
open the .prj (audiodvdc project) and in each line
    StillFileName=
put the path of the desired picture.
the .prj default place is in C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/.../Goland/Audio DVD Creator/Project
after that open advdc, load the modified project and check if is how you want!
    regards!

  4. Hey raquete,
I tried your suggestion but nothing changes. And I've been looking into the DVDLabPro options and directions and it is all a little too confusing and time consuming as Alex_ander has mentioned. I'm just looking to make a DVD mainly for the music but would like to have different images. I'll give DVD Architect a shot and see what I can do with that.
Anyone know if there is any step-by-step instructions on making an Audio DVD with DVDLabPro? Both of the guides I saw had a notation at the top saying that the reader needs to be familiar with the program. And I've never used it, so I don't want to waste my money on it. If I can find good enough instructions I may consider giving DVDLabPro a shot.
    Thanks!

    carbfrze,
    about advdc:
i did it months ago 4 mini-dvds with 4 or 5 full albums each where each album have his own cover and you can chose the desired picture in each music too editing the .prj ...(maybe screenshots later)...but...
you can try dvdlabpro or tmpgencdvdauthor, both are very cool too!
    regards.

  6. Hello Raquete,
what program do you use to edit the .prj files? I was just trying to edit it with Notepad. And do the images have to be in the default directory or anywhere on my computer? I've tried to edit the .prj file that I created from my previous try and I've tried adding the path to different images after the StillFileName but it's not changing anything when I go back into Audio DVD Creator and do the preview.
Any screenshots would be great also.
    Thanks

i edit with notepad too and put all pictures inside the folder "themes" (in advdc default folder).
the preview inside the program don't show everything(if i good remember) then,do this test:
adjust the paths of the pictures that now are inside "themes" folder and don't burn...save in hd as video-ts folder..you know, change to this option in the last step,is secure to check before burn.
now open the result with powerdvd, mpclassic or windvd and check if all is ok.
don't worry, you will find the way if don't i do one little sample to "remember myself" how i did but the "secret" is edit the .prj file, this i'm sure!
the screenshots that i told you will be from the cd openned in mpclassic...simple screenshots showing that each album have his own picture,is nothing so complex but cool for one preogram that "nobody" pay atention and more...i do my mini-dvds using AC3 5.1 512Kbps,i posted about it in another thread.
try and if you still have problems,i will do here but use few samples for the test to be fast!

See What is DVD (top left corner of this page) for valid resolutions. Any graphic you use will end up at one of these resolutions.

  12. Thank you for the great tip to make a more sexy DVD with audio tracks.

    1. The expected image size is 720x540, but the program will scaled it with black border for other size.

    2. Currently, the program only support one image per Title, so we only have to fill in the first "StillFileName=" per title.

    3. The user can also type in the text in after "Artist=", and the Artist name will show up on screen.

    @ daphy
    formats: .bmp,.png...
    sizes: guns1inger's hints are cool.

thanks for the "valid resolutions link"

    try(fast test) 704*576(Pal) and/or 704*480(Ntsc).

i'm searching some of my mini-dvds and i think that we can "do something" about it...later after i found i told you.

    3. The user can also type in the text in after "Artist=", and the Artist name will show up on screen.
    you're right ..as a long time i don't do a new mini-dvd i forgot some details.

you got the feeling! the "secret" of the program is the .prj file where you edit to change some "features".
one "despicable" program now for me is one important instrument with cool features.the best is that the menu get few Mbs size and left big space for the audio.
if my "old memory" work i post more hints later. (have some about size in the registry...trying to remember)

    regards.

  14. I don't think these are secrets. These are planned, but the author is still working to finsihed them up.

For example, the Artist field is in the working pane, but the user can't type in or change the text.

I assume the Still field will be added and allow us to specify the image we want.

I hope eventually visaulisation will be added, to make it more sexy, and prevent screen burn.

Oh, did it makes any different in sound quality, when the CD track is re-sampled to 96KHz and/or 24bits in PCM ?

When the CD track is re-sampled to 48KHz and 16bits in PCM, it does not sound as good as the original CD track.

ah...no! the author left the plans and the program don't have updates from more than a year...maybe 2 years.
had one forum too,i was member there but was closed last year.
i don't think that we can wait for news...a pity!

    i remember:
you can "select title image" for each album and the "artist"/"dvd title" names (edit caption)in the step 3 (author).

you mean upsampling to 96 KHz then re(down)-sampling to 48 KHz? this really makes no sense :P

If your source is a PCM 16bit 44.1KHz (from an audioCD) the necessary upsampling to 48 KHz should cause no notable change in quality. If the build-in upsampling routine is not accurate enough, maybe we should try to use already upsampled sources
Did someone already tried to feed the app with a 5.1 AC3? This might be interesting, too

now i'm sure,my english is too bad...quoting myself:
i do my mini-dvds using AC3 5.1 512Kbps,i posted about it in another thread.
now from the "another thread" https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=312153
easy to use and don't reencode the ac3 if you're loading results from another encoder,
just adjust advdc the to the same bitrate and it's done with menus.
i load all the AC3 and save the project and close the prog.
when you use a external AC3 encoder and chose the bitrate for example 512Kbps,if you use the same bitrate in advdcreator the program don't re-encode the audio again(see in features).then i use this program only for "author" the mini-dvd with menus, pictures, autoplay(very cool feature),name of the tracks and albums,etc...!
this AC3 are from stereo cdas where i extract "extremes, center and lfe" to encode in soft encode or aften and later take the result to author in audio dvd creator with menus, pictures, etc.
