Went to upgrade to 3.0.3.x and see it is now a trial version. Good for 30 days. What's up? Hope I'm reading something wrong.

Yep, it is payware now.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
I just now downloaded it
http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
and installed it ... it is not saying anything about ... costing me anything ... I click the about button and it says .... Free Edition -
I installed the newest version last night, and I saw no indication of a trial version.
Some days it seems as if all I'm doing is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic -
Something weird here! Check out www.dvdfab.com vs www.dvdidle.com

Make sure you use the correct links. There are versions of software with adware attached to them. Make sure you are getting the download from a reliable source.

This is the link for the free DVDFab Decrypter: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
It is strange that DVDFab Decrypter does not also appear on www.dvdfab.com. I did a whois check and found both sites are registered to HiChina Web Solutions with Shen Lanny (lanny@dvdidle.com) as a common point of contact.

Sounds like a sign of things to come. DVD Fab Decrypter may not be free much longer. This appears be their transition period. I want my DVD Decrypter back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you go to the <http://www.dvdidle.com/> website, they list the now-NOT-free DVDFab Platinum, Express, and Gold versions of their software.
However, at the bottom of the page is a text link that says "Free Stuff."
Click on it.
There you find the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter (Ver. 3.0.5.5) which has a post date of 01/11/2007.
I wonder why they don't list the free version along with their for-sale versions?
Hmmm... -
Probably because they are in a business to make money and they would rather you buy their main products. AVG does similar and sort of 'hides' their freeware version of their antivirus.I wonder why they don't list the free version along with their for-sale versions?
The free programs like DVDFab Decrypter are just a sideline. And it always helps to send companies and authors a thank you note to show that you appreciate their freeware and to encourage them to continue to maintain it.

if you go to the website - http://www.dvdfab.com/index.htm - no matter where you go, if you look on the "BOTTOM" of the screen you will see more links that look like this but formatted for the web page. You see the "FREE STUFF" that's what you click to get to the FREE STUFF.. LOLOriginally Posted by videobread
