I've a H264 file that I wanted to convert to Mpeg2.
I had an issue with that, but resolved it by installing ffdshow.
Tmpgenc will now convert the file, but I find the video is either stretched on the vertical (Every one is very thin) or I get the sides cropped.
This is after playing with the various options, but TBH I've no idea what I'm doing.
I have tried a couple of things in the tutorials, but haven't found out how to keep the correct aspect ratio along with all the frame.
I'm using tmpgenc plus 2.5
The video is in H264 format (1280*512 - 2.50:1) with AC3 audio.
Quite new to all this, so thanks in advance for any help..
Paul.

"Keep aspect ratio" under settings->advanced->video arrange method, has alwayed worked fine here.

I know I've tried several options from that drop down box, will have to try again with that one to make sure..
Cheer though. -

Your video is not 16:9 (likely 2.35:1) and you have to add horisontal black bars to complement it to 16:9 before resizing to 720x576 and encoding with 16:9 PAL DVD template.
