i have loads of TV episodes i have been given by a friend who put them onto my hard drive. i want to copy them onto a playable dvd but by using nero7 i can only fit maximum of 2 files on a dvd. Is there a program i can use to fit more clips on. THe clips are about 45 minutes long at resolution 640x352 and audio bit rate of 126 kbps in mpeg layer 3 format. video is 25 frames per second and date rate 139 kbps.

Is there a way i can get about 3 or 4 clips onto a standard dvd?

I would appreciate some help. I would prefer using 1 program cost doesn't really matter.

ConvertxtoDVD would probably get you three episodes to a disc.

A Divx certified player would allow you to burn 10 - 12 episodes to a disc as data.

Converting them manually using a half-D1 resolution and an approptiate bitrate would probably get you 4 - 5 episodes to a disc, but they would be 4:3 letterboxed, not 16:9

  3. I vote for ConvertXtoDVD. Yes, three 45 minutes episodes are the max I put on one disc. Quality from the disc is actually better than the standard broadcast since the source is HD.

I have been using TMPGEnc for a number of years, but suggest the above mentioned program due to its' ease of use, speed and the output quality (if you have a fairly high quality source).

The source may have been HD, but I'll bet now they are just low res, over compressed Xvid avi files. That's all the next encoder will have to work with, so the quality will be based solely on that.

  5. I agree with you. It is the very reason to use such an app as ConvertXtoDVD.

I use Nero to do this too. When I have a DVD that Nero thinks has too many files on it, it automatically resizes them for me. This must be a setting somewhere...

You're really asking for trouble if you let Nero do anything aside from burning IMHO.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I know that you share the sentiment with most others on this forum. However, Nero does the job for me in this regard.
