  1. recently I've noticed sometimes when I left click on an icon on my desktop or quicklaunch it want to open the properties menu for the icon instead of launching it. Anyone run into this behaviour before and know what causes it?

If it was happening all the time then I would guess the properties for the mouse has been changed and the button assignments reversed. My mouse has this ability. But if its only once in awhile then I would suspect the mouse itself or even a mouse cord problem. My son closed the door on his mouse cable one time and it acted very strange until I realized the wire was damaged. Other than that I don't have a clue. Do you have a spare mouse to try?

    Good luck.

  3. Yeah I've tried a different mouse, default drivers, and reinstalled Razors drivers all with the same results. I didn't notice such problems until recently when I've done some software upgrades. I've wondering if IE7 may be causing some explorer glitches.

IE7 didn't do that on mine. Other than changing the button assignments and the mouse being bad I really don't have a clue. A virus or trojan can do some strange stuff like that but even then I wouldn't worry because I have never read or heard of a trojan that reverses the mouse buttons. lol

    Sorry,

  5. now its working fine so I don't know what to think. Might be when I was messing with hardware acceleration trying to get Pool of Radiance to run smoothly.

I think that can do it. I think you got it. One time I too had mouse trouble that ended up being hardware acceleration. The mouse would simply stick and quit working until you rebooted.

    Good luck.

BTW. I'm glad it wasn't "a mouse button switching trojan"

I thought that was funny. lol
