IDK if this is the correct spot for this question? Anyways I just moved into a new apartment and I set up my tv's and dvd players. In one room I have a sony tv with a new sony dvd palyer and in the other room I have an old sylvania tv with and old panosonic dvd player. In both room when i try to play DVD's I get this annoying static noise cmoing out of the speakers of the TV's making watching DVD's unwatchable. I know it cant be the tv's or the DVD players cause they were both working fine in my old apartment and the same problem is occuring in different rooms. I also have a gamecube which when i play it doesnt make any static noise. Could there be some sort of interference with the dvd frequency or some BS like that. I know nothing about this kind of stuff. The cable guy who installed my cable had no idea what was going on either. If anyone can help i would appreciate it... Thanks!

Hmm, are the power outlets mssing their REAL ground ? or are you using 2 prong cheater/outlet strip ?
Also. disconnet the cable and see whether is that the noise source ? -
The noise continues even when the cable is not plugged in...and the DVD players are plugged into surge protectors.
