    Hi Guys and Gals....

I had this problem which bugged me for a while....

I bought a Karaoke vcd (VCD A), which one of the song (music08.DAT)had problem which jammed halfway thru.

As I loved that song very much, I managed to find another different karaoke (VCD B), which had that song with no problem at all in it.

Now here's problem come in.... I like to make a new VCD which is everything (with it menu page )in VCD A untouched except that I will overwrite the spoilt (music08.DAT) with the good one from VCD B....

I tried using Nero burn to burn VCD A to a CD-RW disc then try to rewrite it with music08.DAT from VCD B however was unable to do so......

Then I tried to copy everything of VCD to my desktop and overwrite music08.DAT, and burn it to a disc...but it cant be read in the VCDplayer due to the format is CD-ROM and not VCD....

Can anyone guide me to make the prefect ver for my VCDplayer to read the disc....

    Thx in advance~~

One way that should work is to use VCDGear. (Freeware).

First get all your music tracks from both discs into a folder on your hard disc, using VCDGear's "dat to MPEG" function. Give the files appropriate simple names so you know which is which.

Then use its"video-CD" mode (select VCD, not SVCD), choose "MPEG to cue/bin" to select all these MPEGs and then create the image file (as a cue and bin). Use Nero to burn the image.

This won't give you a menu, but you'll be able to skip from track to track with the usual remote buttons.

After you convert .dat's to .mpegs you can use VCDEasy (free version of it can be found on this site) for authoring a new VCD with menu and chapters.
