Hi everyone! Thanks in advance for your help..

    Here's my problem..
I'm capturing some video from a digital cable receiver (Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3200). My capture card is a Hauppauge PVR-250.
The receiver is in my linving room and my PC is in my bedroom.
There are always some horizontal lines that are appearing at the bottom and going all the way up of my captured video. I uploaded a frame from the video so you can see it.
If I plug the receiver in my bedroom and use the same cables to capture, the problem's solved..

I really don't know what might causes the problem.. I have a home theater in my living room... Can there be some conflict with the amplifier or something..(electric, magnetism..?)?

Thanks a lot 4 your help!

  2. You have a ground loop problem. Try plugging the devices into the same outlet (hard to do if they're in different rooms).

Is there any other solution, like some kind of device (ground loop isolator, like for audio) that can solve the ground loop problem ???

    Thanks for your answer!

  4. I've heard of video ground loop isolators but I have no idea how well they work. I seem to recall they cost a lot more than audio ground loop isolators.

Most cable companies only charge like $5 or $6 extra a month for a 2nd cable box. That way you can have one near the TV and one near the computer and hopefully with that setup the one near the computer will, like now, not have any "issues".
