Hi guys, i know this might be noob to ask, but i tried RMVB Subtitle Muxer, it doesn't work for me. Anyone know of other program i can use which can do the job fairly straight forward, like no converting to other format etc...thanks

Think that is about the only app. Not sure if it is spec compliant or if there are even specs on subtitle streams since real's own apps don't handle internal subs, but use SMIL with external subs.

How exactly does it fail? Really can't see the advantage of putting subs in rmvb instead of remuxing to mkv with subs. Does RealPlayer even support muxed subs?

To play back you need to install the vsfilter included in the download. You also need to install Gabest's real media splitter and have the real player installed. The splitter as well as vsfilter and lots more at
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303
You will get subtitles if you play in windows media player as Gabest's splitter is a Directshow filter.

I did a search and followed on links to find RMVB Subtitle Muxer. Non of the links work. I have a .srt subtitle file and an .rmvb file and would like to mux/add the subtitle permanently onto the .rmvb file without converting the .rmvb to other video format. Is there another program to do this directly? Can one also choice where on the video to place the subtitle, at top or bottom?

    Thank you in advance

    OK, here it goes:

    rmsubmux.exe

P.S.: Besides the Visual Basic runtime DLL, the program also requires a "French Language" DLL
to be placed in the system32 directory --- you will find out what is its name
when you try to run the application without it.
( I'm using Linux right now, preparing myself for a major XP re-install, therefore, ... )
