    Hello. I encoded a 23.976fps movie with CCE using the following little script:
    # -= AviSynth v2.5.7.0 script by FitCD v1.2.8 =-
    AVISource("C:\movie.avi")
    LanczosResize(720,576,0,0,484,264)
    #Trim(0,182662).FadeOut(150)
    ConvertToYUY2() # For VirtualDub or CCE
    On CCE, i didnt click on any framerates. Left it as it was, 23.976!
    The produced .MPV is at 29.97fps. HOW COME?

    Here are the GSpot results:
    AVI=> Pics/s: 23.976, Frames/s: 23.976

    MPV=> Pics/s: 23.976, Frames/s: 29.970

    Why did it change the framerate on its own??

  2. Maybe you have the 2:3 Pulldown box checked?

    What are you trying to do, convert a 23.976fps AVI to PAL DVD using the DGPulldown method? If so, then run that same MPV through DGPulldown with the Custom Box ticked and 23.976->25 filled in.

    It hasn't. The number of frames (or pictures, in g-spot speak) is still 23.976. CCE also applies Pulldown, which gives you playback at 29.97 fps on NTSC devices. Obviously you are converting NTSC to PAL, you now need to open this file in DGPulldown, and change the pulldown to 23.976 -> 25 fps.

  4. CCE added 3:2 pulldown flags. Your video is stored as 23.976 images per second with instructions (for the DVD player) on how to display those images on an interlaced TV.
