I apologize if this question has been asked before or is general knowledge, but is there a way to make a menu button appear during the duration of a motion menu?
I only see buttons that are there form the start, and I want mine to appear 10 seconds into the menu.
Thank you in advance.

You have to create them in the video, fade them in, then add the sub pictures. This is how commercial discs are done. Look at delayed cell and multi-cell menus.
Basically, create the video clip, including the buttons that fade in at some point. Make sure that at some point after that, there is a section of video that can loop easily.
Drop this video onto your menu, then adjust the end point of cell one to be the loop point. Click on cell two, and set your sub pictures for the menu. I find that using points and shapes instead of text for motion menus is often easiest.Read my blog here.

You can add the buttons in DLP and have them come in at anytime you want also.
After adding your menu video right click in the menu and choose "Render Motion"
Then set your clip length & at what time you want the buttons to appear during the menu playback. I do this in the "VMG Title" menu.
Then i use the slider in the menu window to set the end of the "intro cell" & the start for the "loop cell 2" & adjust it to the same time as when the buttons will appear so the links highlight right after the buttons appear, I then add a second menu video identical to the first menu video in the "VTS Root" menu but with the buttons and links from the start, draw a connection from the first to the second so after the first menu is finished it rolls right into the second menu and appears to be the same menu but when it restart's the buttons are already there & not coming in again or the background music starting at a diff. point in the music or sound's & you see the whole menu video from the start again.
Which you won't get with just 1 menu looping halfway through the video.
I have disected many commercial dvd's and they also do it this way so you can have the video fade in the first time you put the dvd in yet you will see the menu complete with no fade in's after that.
I have also made up to 5 diff. main menus and set it up in DLP so each time you insert the dvd you get a totally new main menu, they do this on the star wars dvd's so you get 2 or 3 diff. menus, each time you put the dvd in it randomly gives you a diff. main menu & stay'swith that specific menu until you eject the disc and re insert it.
I also use PS & Real-DRAW PRO to make custom buttons from logo's or shaped photos, or whatever you want, then import them into DLP so i can just add them as buttons and then i can move them around to where they work best in the menu screen before rendering the final menu video.
