  2. Any program that can copy a dvd can copy a PS2 game.

    What game is it?

Maybe you're trying to copy a DL game?

DVDDecrypter ISO Read, ISO write. Not harder than that. But you need a mod chip, swap trick or exploit to play the backup.
But this is no game site. Moving you to off topic.

No? what error did you get? Maybe the original is a DVD9 (which then can't be copied without extensive rebuilding)? What's the size of the ISO after you've ripped it?

Unless anyone here also uses Swap Magic 3, I'm afraid this is the wrong place for this kind of issues. There must be some Swap Magic fora around the web?

Slow loading is common - use better blank media, burn at slowest possible speed. You risk frying the laser with weak burns.

First off what model PS2 do you have ?
One of the newer slim line with the top opening door or the older style with the opening tray ?
The slim line has two micro switches (sensors) (maybe 3, been awhile since i had mine open) that tell if the lid has been opened or is open, you must bypass these keeping them closed at all times so even when the lid is open it think's it is closed.

I have backed up both smackdown Vs. raw games, the original & the 2006 & both run fine, all of my games i have backed up do, and i use both swap magic & swap magic 3 coder boot disc's with no problems, on my slimline & my son's older original version PS2.

Games loading "slow" and "Running" slow are two diff. things, they all load slow, even my originals, i have never noticed any time diff. between the two.
No they should not run slow!! a backup sould play exactly like the original.

I always use DVDDecrypter for my game backup's, ISO read, ISO write.
I alway's use good media (Verbatim) +R's bookedtyped to dvd-rom & alway's burn back to dvdr no faster than 2X.

mats, did you forget your coffee today :P

I personally use -R, but as Noatuck burn at 2x
Sometimes by backups have a hard time reading intro video and stuff, but generally once they play, they play fine. I use el cheapo media most of the time.

The BEST non-mod solution is: Hard drive w/HD Advance. Forget modchips and that flip-lid garbage....

Zero modifications are required, its plug&play. Lets you play original, import, and back-up games. Plus you can load all your games onto HDD, and loadtimes from an HDD are MUCH faster.

Most internal Pc Hard drives brands will work, with the exception of a few like western digitals.

And if you have a newer model PSTWO without the hard drive bay, you can use an external USB HDD just as easily.

I bought the HD Advance with usb Xtreme. Free copy software is available from the site. You copy the game to a usb drive, plug it in to the PS2(slim model) boot from the HD Advance DVD to their GUI, pick which game to play. It can't get any easier than that. My grandkids are hell on the disc and this was a wise buy for me.

Its great for everyone. College students living in a dorm, don't have to cart around a big stack of games&cases. Instead all their games can be stored to compact HDD, as well as played back with much faster load times, plus no wear&tear on the disc drive when playing direct from HDD. So it Greatly increases the lifespan of the PS2.

If you know someone that has a ps2 that is already modified you can create a memory card save with the HD advanced already on it and use a psone game to boot the hd advanced program so you dont have to buy the disk also

ITs a great peice of software

(The hdavanced on a memory card will work on a non modifed console)

I wish i knew how to do that...put the HDadvance program on a memory card and be able to start it up direct from the memory card, without having to use the disc.

Edit: Then again from how your post sounded, i would have to boot up a PSOne game first before being able to load HDAdvance from the memory card. Meh might as well keep using the HDA disc, since i already have it.
