I have a CD Burner on my old desktop it's a DVD-ROM could I burn DVDs with that?

Also, I will be getting a new notebook from Dell, are there burners good? What should I look for or what should it have?

Are there other ways to make DVDs without a burner?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or help!

No, you can burn DVDs with a DVD rom drive. It has to be a DVD burner.

Dell don't make burners, so it depends who they are sourcing from and what models they are using. Might be fine, might be crap.

Honestly, no. There is a hybrid format called a MiniDVD, which is essentially a DVD structure on a CD, but almost no stand-alones play them.

Please don't post in multiple forums - it makes the mods cranky. If you post in a forum and then want it moved you can use the Report this Post link to ask a Mod to move it for you.

DVD-ROM Drive is reader ONLY. It won't burn anything.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't mean any harm, some people jump on you in forums for the littlest things like they never made a mistake when they can let you know politely. I would think people would be nice if they want people at their forum and share info with people.
