You know, funny enough, there is only 1 reference to communist ideas (1 brief phrase from Brainy where he talks about the needs of the many being more important than that of the mother bird's desire to hatch her egg) out of the 262 half-hour episodes, not to mention specials and movies, and then only a few half-assed allusions based on how folks dress and the demographics of the village.

And of course, they totally ignored the bombing of the Smurfs Village in October 2005. The Smurf Army is currently waging war in a few neighboring lands, searching for more WMDs.
