I recently decided to get a portable device for music and video.

I considered the ipod (80Gb) of course, but have decided agaisnt it due to restrictions in formats and user complaints on battery life (ie failure in 1-2 years)

I then went to amazon and looked at many player types...archeos, philips, sony, Toshiba.
Then i set to read user reveiws...most did not make the grade for me at least.

There was a close contender in the Cowan 30 Gb player as it plays both Ogg Vorbis and Flac but the 30 Gb size seems limiting to me, as well as user reveiw seem to indicate that it has a limit of 10000 file names for some reason.

Any how What i did find that i do like is the Wolverine ESP avalible in 80-100 and 120 Gb models

It plays video, music, picture veiwing,it has a removable Lithum Battery, a radio and more stuff too(see the link). EDIT- the PVR functionality seems to be really nice too.

Anyhow, i am wondering what other formats, if any, this player can handle.

As well i am wondering if anyone has used or owns one, and if so any other info they find pertinit to pre-purchuse knowledge on this device.

With the capacity that this boasts i could drop Vids i want to watch on to it and then delete after watching, any that i want to keep i can re-encode to fit better on the device.

I have fairly well decided to go with this machine and am just trying to be sure there will be few to no disheartening suprizes

I have considered waiting for a little smaller model, but i have come to terms with the size and i think this one will be fine. Beside i have seen in the past fetures remove to acomodate size in newer models and i have to say i want most of the features represented here.

I also understand that there is no wide screen, thats fine as it will not be use primarily for veiiwing Video.

If you can think of anything that would be comparable i would love to hear about it/them.

As Well i would like to here any Negitive info on either this Producct or company.

Thanks to anyone that can help me with this, and anyone that trys, as well, I thank you

Edit : i just found this link as well...

It seems like the same thing over again...even the button lay out and battery size. The only non-cosmetic diference i can see is that this one may com with the cradle and seems to have a removable hard drive for some reason...
    So who acutaly makes this?

This is exactly thie type of info i am loooking for on this device...not sure if it apllies to this device... but its the type of thing i need to know before i shell out 500$ and may have to order online complicating return if nessicary.

Sorry for the double post... if it means anything i was still top of the list when i did it so i received no Bump.
