I just installed the Xvid codec and was playing around with the settings. I though I had not installed the lasted version and I unstalled it. When I went back to VirtualDub and went under Compression, the only one that showed up was Uncompressed. I reinstalled Xvid hoping everything would return, but only the Xvid codec was added. I know I can probably just restalled ffdshow and what ever else I need as I go, but I am wondering if anyone knows of a solution that can return it to the way it was.

Usually all a restore will do is remove (uninstall) any programs that were installed after the date you selected. But it should not remove any files.

In this case it would have restored all the registry entries deleted by the installer. Don't understand why we are still seeing this though. It was a bug with the installer for Koepi's 1.2CVS build and was only up for a short time before he fixed it. How are people still downloading it?

Easy enough mistake to make; use deletekey instead of deletevalue with Inno Setup. So instead of removing the vidc.XVID key it removes all vidc and msacm entries. So no more VfW or ACM.

Root: HKLM; Subkey: "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\drivers32"; ValueName: "vidc.XVID"; ValueType: String; ValueData: "xvidvfw.dll"; Flags: createvalueifdoesntexist uninsdeletekey

Does appear to be 1.1.0. I didn't think that installer was effected, but as per above you have deletekey instead of deletevalue. There are other keys that are effected to. Someone should really do something about that.
