I am trying to play a CD of a game I bought, but it keeps coming up with the error message

"This game requires a video cad with a minimum of 32 MB VRAM and programmable Vertex/Pixel Shader support. The application will now close."

I tried updating my Graphic Card, but that didn't work at all.

I have a Dell Inspiron 700M laptop that has Windows XP,Intel Pentium Processor 2 GHZ, 239 Mhz, 496MB RAM

anything else you need to ask, please let me know, but please let me know what I may need in order to play my game. Many thanks!

Moved this to the Computer forum.
"Tried updating"? You either have updated (=replaced) the gfx card, or you haven't?
Laptops are generally rather weak in the graphics department, (and gfx "cards" are 99.9% on board, non upgradable) so I suspect your computer simply isn't up to this game.

I suppose that is, I didn't upgrade but tried meaning.... The Intel site had no newer graphics card for my laptop available. So then there is no way then to understand and resolve this error further?

There isn't a way to upgrade your laptop with better graphics. Your only option would be to replace your laptop.
