I have 3 avi videos......each around 700 mb and i want to convert them into DVD..! My dvd should come less than 4.7GB so that i can write all 3 movies in one dvd.

    1) Avi2dvd -- > Only able to convert one avi file at a time.

    2) ConvertxtoDVD ----> More than 4.7 gb is coming when i see the output vob files .

    3) Tmpgenc ---> Doesnot recognize AVI files....

    4) Winavi -----> It exceeds 4.7 GB

so i need a convertor that can restrict my size of overall dvd...it should have some kind of compressor..!

You could use convertxtodvd, winavi and then dvd shrink it after.

but it's better to encode to correct size directly, www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc#problems or use other encoders like quenc, mainconcept mpeg encoder but they usually requires that you separate the audio to wav and be sure to have the installed video codecs.

  3. Use one of them tools if you still want and if it exceeds the size you could transcode to size with DVDShrink.

    EDITED

Ah well,Baldrick beat me on the DVDShrink method.

that was really fast ! i will give my comments soon

  5. I keep saying this on these forums but I have to say it again.

I LOVE MainConcept MPEG Encoder although it can soften the picture a tiny, tiny bit.I can hardly notice it and the quality is good as is the speed at which this encoder renders.Fast!

It also gives you an estimate of the final filesize if you look at the bottom after selecting bitrate and audio format.

Everything is going to take hours on your PC. A PIII 500 is no longer the powerhouse it used to be

Secondly, you are trying to put almost 6 hours on a disc. This is a big ask for any one-click-wonder program, and requires re-encoding to VCD resolution with DVD compliant audio. To do this you need to encode with a good standalone encoder, then author. If your encoder cannot read the files, you need to use avisynth to load them into the encoder.

My advice - put each on it's own DVD. The first two will be a comfortable fit. That last one will be a squeeze, but it will be no matter which method you use.

Conversion IS supposed to take HOURS. It is perfectly NORMAL. In fact, ConvertX is one of the FASTER products out there. The freebies like AVI2DVD and FAVC takes 4-6 HOURS on my 2.67 GHz P4. DivX2DVD (predecessor of ConvertX2DVD) takes about 2-2.5 hours.

And since Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Kung Fu Hustle is available on DVD, this is starting to look like warez. Esp. when you see "axxo" in the filename.

i am able to convert the first two movies into DVD...but the last one is not possible. I have posted the screenshot. Can you temme which software should i use to convert.

Thanks for the help. I got those movies from my friend. Dont know whether it is a WAREZ. I thought posting links or requesting warez is not allowed. But converting them is not wrong according to the terms and conditions.
