i am convinced by reading different threads in here and elsewhere, 6g's are around the corner.
now, i have no desire to rip and re-rip my dvd's each time a new format comes out, but, i just want to bounce this question off the fellow ipod lovers out there -
what should we suspect as far as resolution (not audio, subtitles, or chapter) with the next generation?
will we see dvd quality?
will we see hd?
i certainly don't expect to see hd any time soon (mostly because there's hardly any hd content to begin with right now, and the system requirements have a significant jump to the next level of hardware), but dvd-full-res is not unfathomable. we're at dvd-res right now for full screen, right (4:3, 480 lines?), but we're still just a bit shy for widescreen or 'better' dvd res.
thoughts?
