SONY DRU-800A freeze at 16X

when i try to burn an ISo image at 16X in any program computer freezes at like 25-40 percent completion, drive will not go over 2X when my media says 1X to 16X(fujiflim) also tried office depot brand 16X which is what i always used before never had a problem till firmware upgrade. I only notice this after i upgraded to the newest firmware from the sony website is there anywhere to downgrade firmware, also i notice when i tried to reflash my drive to the newest firmware it told me 4 to 5 times that i dont have to the right drive (DRU-800A) which i have before it finally flashed. Burn over 200 dvd so i got my money worth is there anything else i can try.

use better dvd media like verbatim.

why use better media used the same media for almost 200 dvds whats the need to upgrade

better check that your drive is in DMA mode. do a google search if you don't know how to set the drive to DMA MODE.
