    Greetings,

The program won't accept anything but a 720 by 480 jpeg or bmp to use as a mpeg still which, when converted sucessfully will be ultimately used for a menu background.

How do I come up with the requisite/mandatory size so I can proceed with learning this program and making headway with my project?I have certain pictures in mind, however they are either not the right size, format or both!!

Is there a picture/image convertor out there that easily resizes pictures, specifically to 720 by 480 so I can met this criteria?

I also want to add one single button,so when I stick this in a stand alone dvd player,it will launch the movie.

    Please help!

    Thanks............

what paint program do you have? MS Paint does allow you to create a template 720x480 using the Attributes option it's very basic and not worth using

I have Paintshop Pro but it isn't free but you could use something like GIMP which is free

as for the button, have you tried GUI for dvdauthor also?

    720 x 480 for nstc project
    720 x 576 for pal project .

Gimp is fine ... or try xnview for simple rescaling of pics for backgrounds .

I recently found this image editor
    http://www.photofiltre.com/

It seems quite powerful for the price (free), so it may be worth checking out. To preserve the aspect ratio of whatever image you are working with, work with 720x540, and then resize to 720x480.

As for the buttons, you can use the pre-defined buttons/shapes, or you can custom make your own. Look in the readme for helpful information on that.
