ffmpegx mpeg_ts to dv

HI I want to edit some family dvds in imovie, the dvds were recorded by my paents on a sony dvd recorder. I have copied the video_ts folder to my hard drive and want to get a .dv file out. However, when i use the preset on ffmegx it takes a second, pings, says its done and im left with a 36kb .dv file?????? Any thoughts????

You probably don't have the mpeg2 playback component from Apple. Once you have that, there are any number of tools that will do what you want.

For extracting to .dv (and other QT formats), I use MPEG Streamclip.
