Pinnacle 500 USB Capturing?

I'm using a Pinnacle 500 USB capture card, and in trying to capture in programs besides Pinnacle Studio 10 (which was uninstalled because it was making the computer slow) I don't pick up audio.

Can anyone give me a solution to this?

are you trying to capture with Pinnacle Studio 10 and u get no audio?

To properly capture with a USB capture device you generally speaking have to use the included software because the hardware is usually proprierity so other software doesn't work.

This is not the case with all USB capture devices but generally speaking it applies to most.

So in short you are better off looking at ways to get the Pinnacle software working correctly rather than looking at other software.

there is a difference if is PCI or USB device about the software?

I tried my Pinnacle PCI with Studio 8 and yesterday with Ulead Media Studio 8.0, I can't see difference about capture stuff with it.

It is a bit different with USB devices as they tend to have proprierity software.

There are some choices that may or may not work such as (in no particular order):

1.) GB-PVR
2.) MythTV
3.) BeyondTV
4.) ChrisTV
5.) SageTV
6.) TitanTV

There are probably more but those are the most popular as I know it.

I looked at each one and while some had Pinnacle products listed not one of them specifically listed the Pinnacle Studio 500 (neither PCI nor USB versions).

well i've had many bad experiences with the Pinnacle software, so would like to edge away from there to other third party programs.
