  1. I recently purchased a Samsung SyncMaster 931BF. I've installed the MagicTune and Natural Color Software on the system. I have three entries added to my startup folder. One for both of these pieces of software and one for Color Calibration, which I believe is their gamma tray tool. Anyone know how much of this really needs loaded at startup? It seems that MagicTune does. The interface will not start if I don't have this loading at startup. Natural Color seems to be just a screen to monitor/printer calibration tool. Essentially a tool to make monitor profiles for the gamma loader. Once I've done my calibration and created the profile is it safe to uninstall Natural Color? I'm not sure if that will take the gamma profile loader with it, but I always have Adobe's to load the profile into. At the very least maybe I can just remove Natural Color from startup. I'm just trying to get my system booting a bit quicker and eliminate the unneccessary junk from running.

I've got 940N and I've never installed those software, just the driver.

  3. I just installed MagicTune to use it's software interface for making adjustement instead of the hardware controls. It seems easier to see the differences. I think I can probably ditch Natural Color though.

I see that you use ATI video card.
I use ATI controls to tune-up a display, for example for 3D applications and games.
Maybe that there are some advanced options inside the software which came with the monitor, but I use only buttons on the screen and those ATI controls.
I don't see a reason why to allow those Samsung software services to start up with Windows.

  5. I think the MagicTune is just a small executable that loads at startup to allow the actual MagicTune software to interface with the monitor when needed. I don't see anything actually running in task manager pertaining to it. Natural Color seems to be just a gamma calibration program. I think the only reason it loads at startup is to put it in the system tray, which I don't need. Now that I've used it to make my profile I can probably just uninstall it and use Adobe's gamma loader to load the profile on startup.

    Thanks for your input.
