I am trying to see if Vegas 7 is for me and find a comfortable screen setup.
I'snt the setup with 2 preview windows, one for shots and another for timeline [like in adobe] is more comfortable to work with ?
The edit/transport bar controls are too detached from the preview window [or screen].
Is there a way to move or add other "transport bar" and precise scrab controls so it will give the best control and position over what you see in the tape window ? maybe under the view window ? what do you think ?

Each to their own, I guess. You can split screen the preview window so that you can see the original and any adjustments or effects in the same pane. I find this much more useful than side by side panes. If I need to preview a clip in the bin, it's in the same window.
You can scrub very precisely on the time line, and zoom into the sub frame level for accuracy. The greatest accuracy comes from using the keyboard, rather than a mouse dragged scrub.
You can move the preview window across to be under the transport controls if you want. I have mine centred, with the audio controls to the right, and bins to the left.
Honestly, I find Premiere's layout crowded an unintuitive, compared to Vegas, but that is a personal thing.Read my blog here.
