I know that its all about comfort, but it will be nice to know what is "The right imput".
Mouse [which? cordless?] Tablet or another type [try to keep under $100]

I have big hands and concern about fine and comfortable control working with envalopes and using still shots in Photoshop and in the editing program.I will be using my system mostly for home editing [Have not decided if Vegas 7 OR premire 2]

I am pretty happy with a corded optical mouse for editing, as I can zoom in and get a nice level of detail for envelopes and such.

For graphics, however, I could not live without my Wacom. There is no substitute.

You can use a Wacom to do pretty much everything a mouse can do, so you can use it in your editor if you like. I find the mouse more intuitive for most things, however for photoshop work the Wacom gives much better precision and control, and feels so natural. I owned a non-wacom tablet some years agon, and frankly it was rubbish. Even the basic Graphire models are streets ahead of anything Wacom's competitors produce.
