So, quite a few months ago, I went to encode a bunch of my .avi videos from my digital camera to quicktime format (.mov). I used xillisoft's encoder, and it encoded some without a problem. But a good portion of my videos (12-14) just gave me "Error 2014-Contains an incorrect duration time". I don't exactly know what that means. In addition to this, what I would really like to know is if there is ANY way I can still manage to save these videos that have apparently been corrupted. I was stupid and didn't think to copy the videos to a separate folder before attempting to encode them.

I searched the forums on this site for similar questions, but didn't find any. I really hope someone can help me out. I would be so grateful. I also don't really know much of anything at all about video encoding or anything, so if you do decide to give me some advice, make sure you don't use any terms or concepts I am more than likely not familiar with.

    Thaaaank you so much!

You can load the files into VirtualDub and check for errors.
