I extract MKV files with MKVEXTRACT GUI to get the AVI and OGG audio. Then I realised that the avi is shorter than the audio! The original lengh should be 22 minutes but now its only 18 minutes..

OK..I know the problem is with the VFR. But I want the solution. How to fix it? What software that can extract VFR MKV?

Hope someone could solve this problem to save the whole mkv to dvd author..
Do you know why people mostly use Mac in their office?
Because a lot of stress can lead people to jump off the "Windows".

The problems is that avi doesn't support VFR. So it doesn't matter what software you use. When you extract to avi you can't have VFR. Doesn't sound like you want an avi anyway. Can't remember... Does mkvextract extract timecodes?

MKV is really pain in the a**.

Finally I'm able to extract the video perfectly. By using Virtualdubmod. Open the MKV, disable all the streams and "save as" avi using direct stream..

I dont know why it works on Virtualdubmod and not in MKVextract.

What is the framerates of the two? Possible that VDubMod uses an average.

Surely it is avi that is the pain, since the mkv is ok?
