Film.avi (xvid)
Film.srt
The subtitles appear very high, almost in the center screen.
I tried different movies and subtitles are still in center of the scren.
Is this due to the DVD Player? If not, how can it be fixed?

Subtitle font and location are controlled by the DVD player. The problem could most likely be corrected by a firmware update. You may want to send an email to Toshiba and see if it is a known issue with that player and if they have a fix.
