    I recently bought a Dimondvision DVD player with Dvix compatibility, but it had problems freezing, etc. The good thing was that it played files burnt on a DVD-R that were burned as multisession.

    Picked up an RCA Dvix player (which works WAY better), but it won't recognize any sessions after session 1 (i.e. - it won't play mulisession DVD-R's.....it will recognize DVD-RW's though).

    Anyone know of any players available at Walmart or FutureShop that will play multisession?

    .....or, is there a way around burning mutisession disks - like using something other than Nero? Is there a burning program that allows one to record multiple files....but they aren't "multisession"?????

  2. The only way to burn multiple files is burn all at one time and finalize (Close) the DVD

    Or

    Use multisession and add them at different times. And wait to view until the disc is filled and closed.

    I myself always close a disc.

    at around 30 cents US ($.30) it isn't a financial hardship. And that is using good media bought on sale and stocking up. (Verbatim, Sony MIJ, Fuji MIJ etc.) Not schlock MIT/MIC/MII junk.

    MIJ = Made in Japan
    MIT = Made in Taiwan
    MIC = Mad in China
    MII = Made in India

    Verbatim is generally though to be OK wherever it is made.

    That is a good idea (not viewing the disk till done), but I tend to record TV shows and like to watch them weekly......but with your suggestion, I can end up with full disks that are watchable.

    Maybe I'm best to record to DVD-RW (so I can watch weekly) and when that disk is full, transfer it over to another DVD-R in one session.

    Bingo!

    I hate wasting space on non-rewritable dvd's aswell. RW's have paid for themselve's so many times over.
