    Hi!

My parents have a strange problem with bad reception on their tv.

They have cable TV and uses a decoder from swedish company Kabelvision. The strange
thing is that when they take the picture directly from the decoder to the TV the picture is bad. Lot of "snow".

The decoder is also connected to the video. And if you take the picture from the video, the picture is good.

    Does anyone recognize this problem?
I think it can be one of three things
    1) The cable between the Tv and Decoder is bad.
    2) The decoder is bad.
    3) The signal is weak and the VCR somehow amplifies it.

The reason I haven just tried to change the cable between the tv and decoder is because it uses a strange BNC connector, which i don't have at home.

    Any thoughts?

  2. Start with the easiest thing. Replace the coaxial cable and see if that fixes it. If not, then you have already weeded out one thing and you can go from there.
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

I also think it's a bad connection there.

I agree - connection. Also check the connectors as well as the cable.
