Is it just me or is it a fact that movie maker wmv files lose quality when converted to flvs?

I'c love to simly use Movie Maker, but the lose in quality that seems to happen is unacceptable.

    Anything esle wrong with wmvs?

The basic encoding settings from microsoft are not the best, and tend to produce softer output than necessary. I suggest you first visit Papa John's site and get his encoding templates. You will gett better output from them.

You also need to accept that wmv is a heavily compressed format, so unless you use a high bitrate, you are going to degrade the image quality. From there to another heavily compressed format (flv) only makes it worse.

If you want to preserve the highest quality from WMM, output as DV avi instead.
