I tried to convert a Quicktime HD (.MOV/h264,yuv420p 1280x720) (aac, 48000Hz, 5,1), file
to AVI. I used the Mpeg4 (AVI) mencoder and i also tried the Mpeg4 (AVI) ffmep whit always
a .mp3 set up audio.
So after that i had nice picture but no sound. What i had missed?
Anyone can help?
Thanks a lot

The mencoder engine uses mplayer to decode the source file. Check if your can hear audio by using the Play button, which uses mplayer for playback. If you get no audio there, then you can't use mencoder for the conversion.
If you do hear audio in mplayer, then something else is going on, and the Progress Log (blue "i" button) might be useful to detect any errors during conversion.
