    Thanks kitty - but I was wondering about the LG recorder (model DR1F9H). I was wondering if the LG also could start recording in 1 second using a DVD-Ram disc.

    Does anyone know what chipset the RCA DRC8052NC has? How does its quality compare to the LG DR1F9H?

    The two seem comparable in terms of features. The RCA seems to have gotten decent reviews in terms of picture quality, but there were a lot of gripes about it on woot.com, which had refurbished models available. The number of available refurbished models suggests there may be some quality issues with RCA. What has been their track record?
