    Hi,

I would like to make a menu where I can play a live-concert of my band as a whole, and play it track by track.

Is this possible with 1 video file? Or do I have to record my vid-file as whole & record it track by track?

I guess it would be possible to place sort of bookmarks in the complete vid-file and create a menu that point to those bookmarks.

Is there software that is recommended for such a action?

    Greetings from the Netherlands.

You're talking about chapters, and all (?) DVD authoring apps support that feature. No need to split the vid in tracks - just set chapter points at the start of each tune. Then a menu that lets you jump to a specific chapter. Pretty std DVD menu. I'd recommend TMPGEnc DVD AUthor for this simple approach.
However, I imagine you'd like to enable different kinds of playback - Play all and Play one? The usual approach when you go to a specific chapter, is that the DVD will continue to play from the selected chapter to the end of the video. For music, I like to return to the chapter menu after listening/wathching the selected song. To this end, you need something like DVD-Lab Pro (I'm sure it's possible with other apps too) and play lists.

DLP's chapter playlists make this very easy. Just set chapter points at the start of each song, then create a chapter playlist for each chapter. You can also create playlists to group different tracks together, or play them a different order. DVD Architect 4 can also do chapter playlists. DVDA3 could only do title playlists.
