  1. Good day,

I usually convert my AVI files with winAVIconverter into standard DVD files. These AVI files are always have single audio stream only (english). However, i recently obtained 2 AVI files with each of it having 2 AC3 tracks (english+italiano). The problem is, after compiling with DVD-lab pro and had it edited with IFO editor(making it 2 audio streams), the resulted DVD can only play 1 audio stream which is italiano. How can i make a DVD that plays both of the languages or perhaps only english stream? Can someone kindly please show me how to do so, step by step? I'm so sorry that i'm kinda newbie in this as i only know how to use winAVIconverter and DVD-lab pro.

Start by not using WinAVI convertor. Why would you even use the crap it churns out in DLP ? It's like buying a top class performance car (DLP), then slashing the tyres and pissing in the gas tank.

Open the avi file in virtualdubmod. Click on Streams -> stream List. Click on the first audio stream and then click on Demux. Save it somewhere. Repeat for the second. You know have the audio ready for authoring in DLP. Get a bitrate calculator and decent encoder (HCEnc, Quenc are both free) and encode the video. Use FitCD to create a simple avisynth script ot resize correctly.

Use the video you encoded, plus the two audio tracks you demuxed, to author in DLP.

Think seriously about ditching WinAVI. It is more trouble than it is worth.

Did WinAVI output both audio streams? You could take them out first with a program like VirtualDub and the AC3 ACM Decompressor before WinAVI does it's conversion.

If they are DVD compliant AC3 streams just demux them out and put them into your authoring program when you author. WinAVI doesn't have a very good reputation around here and I don't know how well, if at all, it can handle multiple AC3 audio streams.

A better tool, if you want a all-in-one converter would be ConvertXToDVD. It has a lot less problems than WinAVI.

If the problem is with DVD-Lab Pro, take a look at this guide: http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/tutorial/amanager.html
