streaming video question

Hello all,

Here is the functionality I want in a streaming video application. Can anyone point me to something that can do this, or the next best thing?

I want to be able to have a simple client/server application, where I can browse through my video collection on my server computer (avi/mpg/etc) from the client computer and play any file format to my client computer.

What is the best application that is easy to use and can do this?

orb.com/myorb.com actually has exactly what I am looking for, except the client is a web interface through their site.

Does anyone know of a client/server app that does this not through any 3rd party sites?

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Is it to be used on a LAN or over the internet?

over the Internet. Basically I want to be able to watch any videos on my hard drive from any computer.
