    The subject line pretty much sums it up. After I installed WinAVI Video Converter v7.7, Media Player Classic v6.4.9 stopped working. No matter what I try to open, any format, I just get the message "Cannot render the file".

    WinAVI converter may not be at fault but that's what I suspect. It's the only change I've made to my system since MPC stopped working.

    You should have just installed a virus instead. Uninstall WinAVI, and delete the installer. Then run a system restore back to before you installed WinAVI. Then find an alternative method for encoding.

    Sorry to hear than. You could try WinAVI support, but I have yet to hear of anyone who has actually been able to make contact or get any assistance from them.
