dvd burner hp dc3000 not burning

have a problem with dvd writer. it stopped working..movies will not burn..getting error such as drive not ready can not perform disk end at once..those errors happen with nero..used arcsoft showbix and says it burned successfully but nothing burn on disk..can some one help me solve the problem???? i have the latest firware contacted hp and nero and no help..was working fine till a couple months ago...also changed mode to dma and nothing i do is working running out of resources

Is it able to read discs (cd and dvd)? If it can't, then you most likely have a hardware issue. Probably a bad drive. From the information you provided above, it sounds like a bad drive.

HP dc3000 has upgrades available for the Arcsoft Showbiz software, and firmware upgrades for the device. Mine didn't work until I installed both. Now works well. They can be found at:
