    Hi,

I have been trying out MPEG Video Wizard DVD and find that everything works well, except that when I open the DVD Maker component, I only get the top left hand quadrant of my video displayed in the monitor window, with severe colour distortion and vertical banding. However, if I switch to a template view, with video clips in the buttons, everything appears fine.

I did notice that if I changed the Encoder image size settings in DVD Maker, from 720 x 576 to 352 x 288, that it made the banding finer. This surprised me as I thought that changing the settings would only have any effect when one did the final Export.

I have been in touch with Womble Tech Support and the only thing that they have been able suggest, so far, is that I might have a video driver problem. I have checked that I have the latest driver, so am not sure what to try next.

Has anyone else experienced this problem; am I doing something stupid or can anyone offer any suggestions?

I have been burning DVDs using MPEG Video Wizard and Ulead DVD MF 3.0 without any problem.

    I'm using a Dell Dimension XPS T 700r, with a 700MHz Intel Pentium 3, 256 Mb
    RAM, a NVIDIA TNT2 M64 4xAGP card and runs Windows 98SE.

The video clips that I have been editing in MPEG Video Wizared are MPEG-2, 720 x 576 (3/4), 25 frames/sec, bit rate 6000 kbps (variable).

    Thanks.

    Regards

    Mike

    Hi,

I'm pleased to report that I have now solved this problem.

I discovered that my video card was set to display 16 bit rather than 32 bit colour.

Having changed this setting, everything works fine.

    Regards

    Mike
