    This may be old news ... I have no idea what "event" this was but it looks like it was somewhat recent.

    I found it on that wonderful website known as youtube.com

    I never get any sound when trying to watch youtube videos

    However that is rather odd that you have sound issues with youtube.com

    There is a website called http://keepvid.com/ that will allow you to download youtube.com videos when you paste the direct link ... it will download with a FLV extention (FLASH VIDEO) but you can then convert it to AVI or whatever. My guess is you have something wrong with your FLASH VIDEO setup if you get no audio so downloading it and converting it to an AVI may work.

    I got the sound working after uninstalling and installing Flash 3 times
