Does anyone know of an online list of VHS titles that are not yet available on DVD? I am not sure if one exists, but if anyone has any ideas it would be very helpful. Thank you.

Fletch (actually was released in limited run)
The Kid with the 200 I.Q.
Meatballs (also a very limited run on DVD)

I'm sure there are many, many more.

The Grey Fox starring Richard Farnsworth has not been released on DVD, even though it is one of the very best westerns - waiting impatiently!

The ultimate unreleased movie on DVD ... Walt Disney's SONG OF THE SOUTH

The ultimate unreleased movie period ... the Jerry Lewis film THE DAY THE CLOWN CRIED

As for the posted question ... I'm not aware of such a list but what a great idea!

    Maybe someone knows something ...

Fulci: et. al. - Has anyone found a copy of Carbine Williams, circa 1952; starring James Stewart, on (a legal copy, not recorded from TV) VHS or DVD?

I recently searched for it for a co-worker.

Never heard of the film ... did a quick search and it doesn't appear to be out there anywhere (knock on wood).

With a movie like this your best bet is that it shows up on something like TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and that you get good reception and have a stand alone DVD recorder.

I've got a few movies I recorded off of cable TV that have never had a DVD release. Some even recently shown so I was able to use my Pioneer DVD recorder.

It's not such a bad option ... if it ever gets TV play.

I'm thinking this movie is really rare because even an eBay search shows no bootleg DVD discs. That's pretty bad i.e., means the movie is damn rare.

    ribbot,

I doubt very much that the list you're looking for currently exists, or ever will. Even massive research would never be able to list everything that was ever available on vhs, much less correlate it with what has been transferred to dvd, which would be required to produce the list you are looking for. Sorry.

    Welcome to VideoHelp though.

It does look like Disney have bailed out on releasing this again.

Fulci: Yep: I've dug through the internet and all of my usual sources for Carbine Williams (1952) without success. I found it unusual for 1. A James Stewart, and 2. an MGM release to not have ever been released on even VHS. It is in the archives at Turner Classic Movies, and is showing up as a pre-release item on amazon.com. I thought I'd add it to the list of hard to find movies, as I've had quite a time searching for it.

I did dig up a copy on "DVD" on ebay awhile back, but after seeing some of the versions of other movies available through that venue, many are such poor quality VHS to DVD or dvd recorder work that they are a frustration to watch; I elected to see if amazon came through.
